Silvopasture is an agroforestry practice that combines the sustainable management of trees, livestock, and forage plants within the same ecosystem. It involves integrating trees and pasture or forage crops in a mutually beneficial manner. Silvopasture systems are designed to provide multiple benefits, and they have several important advantages for conservation and sustainable land use:

1. Biodiversity: Silvopasture can increase biodiversity by providing habitats for various wildlife species, as well as offering diverse food sources and shelter. They can be a haven for native plant and animal species as well

2. Carbon Sequestration: The trees in silvopasture systems help sequester carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, mitigating climate change and contributing to carbon storage. Carbon is stored in the biomass of the trees and the soil.

3. Soil Health: The presence of trees can enhance soil quality by reducing erosion, improving nutrient cycling, and increasing water infiltration due to the presence of trees and ground cover plants.

4. Climate Resilience: Silvopasture can help make farming and ranching more resilient to climate change by providing shade for livestock and reducing the impact of extreme weather events.
