No-dig gardening is a method of growing plants without disturbing the soil by digging it up with a shovel or other tools. Instead of digging, no-dig gardeners use techniques like layering, composting, and mulching to improve the soil and provide plants with the nutrients they need to grow. This method of gardening is often considered to be more sustainable and less labor-intensive than traditional gardening methods. It can also help to improve soil health and support a diverse ecosystem of beneficial organisms — such as mycorrhizal fungi.
