3 Steps to Getting Your First 100 Followers on Medium
Why is this topic coming up so much with writers on Medium?
Many of you have heard writers on Medium frantically trying to get 100 or more followers on this site. That is because if you do not have 100 followers on Medium you will be dropped from the Partner Program here — ie you won’t be able to monetize your work on the site. For many, this is the main motivation — turning their writing into a source of income.
So, let’s look at three simple ways to grow your following and that are actually the same three ways that I got this profile to over 100 followers. I also want to point out that this method is a light lift — not time intensive and not writing intensive.
One: figure out what topic(s) you want to write about
I suggest narrowing in on one to three topics that you want to dedicate the majority of your time to writing about. I don’t think you should push for more than three — we can’t be experts on everything. I try to concentrate my time on education, teaching, and envrionment. Once you have those the topics down go search those topics on Medium.
